Appreciate Vibrant Bridal Noren Curtains and Experience Noto's Bridal Customs

About this spot

An exhibition hall dedicated to the "Bride's Noren," a bridal custom unique to Noto and Kaga, located on Ichinonsugi Street. It introduces the regional tradition in which brides hang a noren curtain in front of the household altar before passing through it to officially enter their new home, showcased alongside numerous vibrant noren curtains dyed using Kaga Yuzen techniques. The displays, which include noren from the Meiji period through the Heisei era, are breathtaking, and each piece warms your heart with the parents' deep wishes. Visiting as a couple allows you to feel your own bond anew.

Tips

The museum interior has minimal steps and is comfortable for leisurely viewing. Since exhibits rotate, you'll encounter different noren each time you visit—another delightful aspect. Even taking your time, the compact facility can be toured in about an hour. It's recommended to visit together with a stroll along Ichinonsugi Street.
