Enjoy a Free Foot Bath and Evening Stroll in a Seaside Park Overlooking Nanao Bay
About this spot
A park spreading along the sea in Wakaura Hot Spring town, boasting an open location with panoramic views of Nanao Bay and Notojima Island. Within the park is a free foot bath fed by hot spring water, called "Tsumakoi-fune-no-Yu," where you can soothe your tired feet from a day of walking while gazing at the sea. The serene inland sea, passing vessels, and the bridge spanning to the opposite shore create a view unique to a port-town hot spring. Watching the sea bathe in the glow of sunset together makes for a fitting conclusion to your journey.
Tips
The foot bath is free, but bring your own towel. It's about a 10-minute walk from the Festival Museum, and the path through the hot spring town is enjoyable as you breathe in the hot spring aroma. Since sea breezes are strong, bringing a light jacket is recommended. Nearby Yumoto Plaza is also popular for making hot spring eggs.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour. Evening is when the sea glows with sunset colors, making the view from the foot bath most beautiful.
