A popular day-use hot spring situated on a hilltop in Yamanashi City at an altitude of approximately 700 meters. There are two bathhouses with unique names—"Acchi no Yu" (That Side Bath) and "Kocchi no Yu" (This Side Bath)—and both offer breathtaking views of the Kofu Basin and Mount Fuji in an open, liberating atmosphere. In the evening, as lights begin to illuminate the towns in the basin, you can enjoy scenery that transforms with time. After bathing, it's customary to indulge in the shop's famous "hot spring eggs." A perfect finale that embodies Yamanashi's blend of spectacular scenery and relaxed atmosphere.
Tips
Admission is approximately 900 yen for adults; bringing your own towel is recommended (towels are also available at the shop). On weekends, the early evening can get crowded, so arriving a bit earlier is advisable. As night falls, the hilltop becomes windy and cool, so don't forget a cardigan or jacket. Parking is free, and a shop area with light refreshments is available after bathing.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Twilight hours offer the most dramatic view of the basin landscape.
