Safari Drive Passing Right Alongside Lions and Giraffes from Your Own Car

A safari-style zoo representing Japan, sprawling at the base of Mt. Fuji. You can drive through the entire safari zone in your own car, and the impressive spectacle of large animals like bears, lions, tigers, elephants, and giraffes casually walking just outside your windows is an experience found nowhere else. The sight of Mt. Fuji towering beyond the animals is another highlight. In the Contact Zone, you can get close to small animals like capybaras and kangaroos, making the morning a memorable experience even for small children.
Tips
If you drive through the safari zone in your own car, you can go around as many times as you like with no additional charge. The popular Jungle Bus, which gets you closer to the animals, requires a separate fee and spaces fill up quickly, so book early if interested. The roads in the park move slowly, so allow plenty of time. The Contact Zone is also stroller-friendly.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2.5 hours required. The early morning right after opening is recommended when the animals are most active.
