Beyond interactive exhibits exploring world tea cultures, Shizuoka tea history, and tea production processes, the museum features a reconstructed garden and tea room associated with Kobori Enshū, a renowned daimyo tea master from the early Edo period. The setting itself immerses you in the world of tea, surrounded by the expansive Makinohara tea plantations. The museum offers experiential activities including formal tea service and hand-grinding matcha, allowing you to taste the differences between teas firsthand.

Tips

General admission is approximately 300 yen for adults; tea service and hands-on experiences are separate (a few hundred yen each). The museum is typically closed Tuesdays, so check opening hours in advance. The facility is barrier-free with free parking. Tea leaves sold at the museum shop make popular souvenirs.
