A long-established Uji tea merchant with over 160 years of history, the main shop retains the atmosphere of a traditional tea merchant's residence and is counted as part of the National Government-designated important cultural landscape "Uji's Cultural Landscape." In the courtyard stands a magnificent pine tree shaped like a boat, "Horai-fune Matsu," so beautiful that even the wait becomes picturesque. At the café, you'll find fragrant matcha-infused soba noodles for lunch, the signature matcha parfait, the signature "nama-chazeri" (fresh tea jelly) served in bamboo tubes, and other matcha-lover's favorites. The shop's sales area, lined with millstones, offers a great selection of tea leaves and matcha sweets as souvenirs—you're sure to overindulge in the afterglow of the parfait. A must-see highlight of any matcha-filled women's trip to Uji.

Conveniently located just a 1-minute walk from JR Uji Station. Expect queues at the café; on weekends, waits of an hour or more are common even before noon.
