The origins of the Kumano Kodo, the history of pilgrimage—so popular it was called the "procession of ants"—and the faith world of Kumano Sanzan are presented clearly through photographs and materials. Located directly across from the torii gate of Kumano Hongu Grand Shrine, along National Route 168—free admission. It's just minutes from the "Hongu Taisha-mae" bus stop. The tourist information desk is perfect for confirming bus schedules to the Yunomine (湯の峰) and Kawayū (川湯) areas in the afternoon. The facility is barrier-free with freely accessible restrooms and rest areas.
