Scenic Spot Where Sunset Paints Ago Bay in Crimson. Conclude the Day Together as a Couple

About this spot

A park spanning a peninsula jutting into Ago Bay, where the Kirigaki Observatory within the park is known as a premier sunset viewing spot in the bay. As the sunset paints the intricately indented inlets and pearl-farming rafts in shades of crimson while sinking beyond the island shadows, the sight ranks among Ise-Shima's most beautiful. The complex coastline unique to rias coasts becomes a silhouette in backlighting, and the colors of sky and sea transform moment by moment, making the 30 minutes before and after sunset a true golden hour. The park grounds also feature a lawn plaza and walking trails, allowing you to leisurely stroll while awaiting dusk. This is a must-see finale for a day full of photography, where you and your partner can gaze together.

Tips

About 20 minutes by car from Kashikojima, with free parking within the park. The Kirigaki Observatory, a premier sunset spot, requires some walking from the parking lot, so arrive 30 to 40 minutes before sunset—this is essential. After sunset, the ground becomes dark, so having a smartphone light is reassuring. If using a tripod, position yourself to avoid blocking other viewers' sightlines.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour needed. From 30 minutes before sunset through after sunset, during the magical hour of twilight glow.
