Right in front of Yoichi Station, this seafood shop bustles with locals and tourists every day. The first floor displays fresh fish from Yoichi Port and elsewhere in Hokkaido, processed foods, and local sake; the famous "Kaisen Kobo" (Seafood Workshop) restaurant occupies the second floor. Known for reasonably priced seafood rice bowls, seasonal sea urchin rice bowls, and hearty grilled atka-fish sets that reflect the character of a port town, it's not uncommon for lines to extend down the stairs during lunch hours. Its location within walking distance of Nikka Whisky Yoichi Distillery is one reason this spot remains a favorite lunch choice for Yoichi visitors. After your meal, browsing the first floor for dried fish and specialty foods allows you to handle souvenir shopping and snacks for the second half of your drive in one go.
