About this spot
A facility located at the base of the Hachimantai Aspite Line that provides an accessible introduction to the natural features of Towada-Hachimantai National Park. The interior features a three-dimensional model of the Hachimantai area, exhibits explaining the geology of flora and fauna, and video corners—all offered free admission with surprising depth. Pre-learning about the topography the Aspite Line covers will greatly enhance your appreciation of the views from your car. Staff can also share the latest information about hiking trails near the summit, blooming flowers, and road conditions, which is very reassuring. If time permits, you can take a short stroll on nearby elevated boardwalks through wetlands to get an early taste of highland air before heading to the summit.
Tips
About 15 minutes by car from Michi-no-Eki Nishine, located just before entering the Aspite Line. Free admission with ample parking. The summit is significantly cooler than the base, so use this stop to adjust your clothing appropriately for a comfortable experience.

Approximately 45 minutes. Recommended to visit in the morning before ascending, to confirm the latest information on roads and trails
