Within the park, there is also a scenic pond that serves as a site for nature observation, making for an enjoyable walk while spotting aquatic creatures and wild birds. Its location directly accessible from the aquarium's parking lot means you don't have to move your car to switch between "viewing" and "playing"—a precious advantage for families with children. It's the ideal spot to take a break in the course, helping your child reset their pace with lunch in between.
Tips
Located immediately next to Sendai Umino-mori Aquarium, within walking distance from the aquarium's parking lot. Free admission. There are no shops in the park, so prepare lunch and drinks in advance. Shade is limited, so in summer, hats and tarps or pop-up tents are helpful for comfort.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 1 hour. Best suited for midday picnic use. The grass is delightful on clear days.
