Leisurely Stroll Through a Flower Village Praised as "a Peach Blossom Spring in Fukushima"

A rare park nationwide, generously opened to the public by the Abe family of flower farmers in the Watori district of Fukushima City, who have carefully maintained this flower mountain for many years. It became widely known when photographer Akiyama Shotaro praised it as "a Peach Blossom Spring in Fukushima." Dozens of varieties of flowering trees—including plums, peach blossoms, cherry blossoms, forsythia, and quince—color the foothills of the countryside. The mountain features three well-maintained loop courses of 30, 45, and 60 minutes to the summit, allowing you to choose based on your fitness level—a wonderful feature for three-generation outings. From near the summit, you can overlook Fukushima city and the Azuma mountain range, and the snow pattern "Azuma's Snow Rabbit" visible through the flowers is one of Fukushima's signature landscapes. At the base, you'll also find a rapeseed field and a walking path along a small stream, allowing you to experience the village atmosphere even within your comfortable walking range.

Tips

During peak flower season, vehicle traffic is restricted, and access is via shuttle bus from the Abukuma Aquatic Park temporary parking lot (outside the restriction period, use the surrounding parking areas). The park has slopes, so comfortable walking shoes are essential. If visiting with grandparents, choose the shorter 30-minute course and take frequent breaks at the rest benches for peace of mind. Admission is free, but there is a donation box for environmental maintenance.
