The restaurants inside offer Western cuisine and café menus using local ingredients, and dining in this industrial heritage space is an experience uniquely Kurashiki. The Kurashiki Spinning Company Memorial Hall, located on the grounds, introduces the history of Kurashiki's textile industry, serving as good preparation for visiting the Denim Street in the afternoon. Numerous arcades and covered passages make it easy to move about even on rainy days.

Tips

The restaurants become crowded after noon, so aim for early seating in the 12 p.m. hour or adjust your timing accordingly. The central courtyard has little shade from the sun, so a hat is recommended in summer. From the historic district side, it's just a few minutes walk—follow along the red-brick wall to avoid getting lost.
