About this spot
A white stone lighthouse standing on a small promontory on the southern side of the island. The path from Kaiyuka Village along the coastal promenade is a refreshing walk where glimpses of the Seto Inland Sea appear between the trees. From around the lighthouse, you can take in the panorama unique to the Seto Inland Sea—the beauty of many islands including Omishima and the mountains of the opposite shore. If you venture a bit further to a nearby viewing spot, an even more expansive panorama awaits. In the evening, the sea surface glimmers as it catches the western sunlight, offering a spectacular sight worthy of your day's conclusion. Rabbits pop out along the path in both directions, allowing you to enjoy the island's character right to the end. A quiet and beautiful spot fitting to close out your day.
Tips
While the promenade is well-maintained, it has ups and downs, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Check the ferry departure time beforehand so you can return to the pier with peace of mind.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 45 minutes required. Late afternoon, when the sea glimmers in the western sunlight, is perfect for capping off your day.
