About this spot

One of the closest observation spots to the Onaruto Bridge within Naruto Park. You can enjoy an expansive view of the white bridge, the Naruto Strait, and the island of Awaji across the water. The area is lined with restaurants and souvenir shops. For lunch, it's customary to savor the bounty of the strait here—such as bowls of fresh Naruto sea bream with firm, sweet flesh from the whirling currents, or set meals featuring the region's famous Naruto wakame seaweed. After eating, you can leisurely observe the cars crossing the bridge and the tidal currents below from the observation platform, or browse Tokushima souvenirs such as sudachi products and Naruto sweet potato sweets. It's the perfect place to take a refreshing break before afternoon whirlpool observation.

Tips

Just a short walk from the Naruto Park parking lot. Restaurants are busy during lunch hours, so it's safer to secure a seat early. The observation platform has little shade and can be exposed to intense sun in summer, so a hat is recommended. Souvenir shops can be visited again after afternoon sightseeing.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour required. At midday, front-lit conditions showcase the Onaruto Bridge over the blue strait at its most beautiful.
