A rare individual memorial museum nationwide dedicated to Torii Ryūzō, a Tokushima-born anthropologist and archaeologist. Self-taught, Torii conducted fieldwork across East Asia to South America, pioneering the methodology of field research. The museum displays photographs taken during his investigations, collected artifacts, and personal belongings, vividly recounting how a young man from Meiji-era Tokushima came to work on a world stage. Located in the same building complex as the Prefectural Museum within Culture Forest, moving between them in the rain is effortless. The narrative flows seamlessly from Awa's history learned at the museum to the story of 'Tokushima's intellectual giant.'
