A noodle-factory-style udon shop in Takase-cho, Mitoyo City, where udon lovers from across the prefecture and beyond form lines from opening time. The menu is refreshingly simple: only hot or cold freshly boiled udon. The standard way to enjoy it is to receive your bowl, drop a raw egg into it, and drizzle on the house soy sauce. The strong bite and wheat aroma distinctive of freshly made noodles truly capture the essence of Sanuki udon. The unpretentious shop front and the experience of slurping alongside locals make your journey's beginning truly special. Sold out means closed, so visiting early is essential.
Tips
Cash payment is the standard, so prepare small change. There is parking near the shop, but follow staff directions during busy times. Follow the posted rules inside for returning your bowl and other self-service procedures—even first-timers will manage fine.
Best time to visit
Plan for about 40 minutes. Early morning right after opening offers the best chance of hot noodles and less risk of running out.
