Ancient Pine Trees Spanning Centuries and White Sandy Beach Stretching About 1 km—A Scenic Treasure of White Sand and Blue Pines
About this spot
A signature scenic site in eastern Kagawa included in the Seto Inland Sea National Park, also known as Kyōrin Park (琴林公園). The pine forest of about 3,000 black pines is dotted with ancient trees said to be centuries old, featuring dramatic serpentine trunks and root-exposed pines that are worth seeing. Beyond the forest, a pristine white sandy beach stretches for about 1 km in an arc—selected as one of "Japan's Best Beaches"—spreading a picturesque white sand and blue pine landscape. The Negai Bridge (願い橋) and Kanae Bridge (叶え橋) at the entrance are popular spots where wishes are said to come true if you cross while thinking of them.
Tips
The forest interior is shaded and cool; the footpath ahead becomes sandy, so comfortable sneakers are recommended. The Negai and Kanae Bridges are actually one bridge with names that change depending on direction, so cross slowly while making your wish. If you venture to the water's edge, shoes that don't let sand in easily are more comfortable.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes. In the morning, light reflects off the sea and sparkles, creating the most beautiful contrast with the green pines
