Learn About Ureshino Tea Through Tasting and Brewing
About this spot
An interactive exchange center where you can fully experience the history and culture of Ureshino tea. The exhibition area traces the evolution of Ureshino tea from its origins in pan-roasted tea to modern steamed ball-shaped green tea production. During the hands-on tea-tasting experience, you'll learn the proper brewing technique for Ureshino tea and taste different infusions—discovering how the same tea leaves transform dramatically based on water temperature and steeping time. The gift shop stocks tea leaves fresh from Ureshino's tea gardens, allowing you to purchase your favorite tea from the tasting as a souvenir. Located near Todoroke Falls, this is the perfect place to conclude your day exploring tea country.
Tips
Experience programs may have fixed times and capacity limits, so it's wise to inquire in advance. Plan to spend about an hour total to comfortably enjoy both the exhibits and the experience. With many tea varieties available in the gift shop, it's best to identify your preferences during the tasting before making your selection.
Best time to visit
Allow approximately 1 hour 10 minutes. The relaxed afternoon hours after lunch provide the perfect time to leisurely enjoy both the exhibitions and hands-on experiences.
