Brewing Warehouse Tour and Limited-Edition Sake Souvenir Shopping
About this spot
A tourist sake brewery operated by the brewery owner Mitsubu Brewery, facing Sake Brewery Street. You can freely tour the brewing warehouse, slowly exploring exhibits of large tanks, sake-making tools, and displays evoking the life of earlier eras. The shop is stocked with 'Mitsubu' sake, the widely beloved sweet potato shochu 'Magai e no Izanai,' limited-edition sake, and liqueurs. Selecting your favorite through tastings makes for a fitting conclusion to your journey. Beginning with the scarlet pagoda of Yutoku Inari Shrine in the morning and closing with the white-walled sake brewery, this final stop lets you take home Kashima's sake culture as you depart.
Tips
Tastings here are also reserved for non-drivers. With an extensive selection beyond sake to include shochu, plum wine, and liqueurs, allow ample time if you wish to sample and compare. When purchasing bottles, ask for special breakage-resistant wrapping and bring a sturdy bag for carrying.
Best time to visit
Approximately 45 minutes required. Stop by in the leisurely afternoon hours, carrying with you the lingering impressions from the townscape walk.
