Located in the middle of Hirado Island, this spectacular viewpoint features rolling grassland hills where trees are sparse and the landscape stretches endlessly like waves. Climb the walking path to the hilltop and you'll be rewarded with a magnificent panorama: the sea spread below, the mountain range of Hirado behind you, and on clear days, views extending to the Kyushu mainland and surrounding islands. The grassland transforms beautifully with the seasons—lush green in spring and summer, soft grass-colored hues in autumn—and the sound of wind passing through the grass is equally soothing. The charm lies in how quickly you can step out of your car and encounter this spectacular scenery, making it the perfect place to take a deep breath and conclude your coastal castle town journey.
Tips
The grassland offers no shelter, so come prepared for sun and wind. Bring a hat or light jacket for comfort. The walking path has inclines, so wear comfortable shoes. The distance from the parking area to scenic viewpoints is short, so you can adjust your walking distance according to your physical ability.
Best time to visit
Plan for approximately 1 hour. Late afternoon light, when the sea shimmers brilliantly, is particularly photogenic.
