A Free Foot Bath at Tamana Hot Spring Where You Rest Your Feet in Legend

About this spot

A free foot bath at the entrance to Tamana Hot Spring, located in a corner of Riyuganji Park (立願寺公園). Tamana Hot Spring carries an opening legend that a wounded white heron healed its wings in these waters, and the foot bath's name honors that tale. Designed like a roofed pavilion, it's easy to use even on rainy days. The silky, gentle waters soothe the feet after walking through Manda Mine and Greenland. As you gaze at the darkening sky through the rising steam, you and your family can chat about the most thrilling ride of the day. This is the perfect place to conclude a greedy day of world heritage and scream coasters.

Tips

Towels are not provided, so be sure to bring one. Wear clothing that allows easy access to your feet (pants you can roll up), and things will go smoothly. The surrounding area is a quiet hot spring town, so if you have time, taking a short walk through the steamy streets before heading home is also a nice touch.

Best time to visit

Approximately 35 minutes required. At dusk, when the crimson sky and rising steam mingle, it's the perfect finale to your day.
