A Kumamon-themed park born at Yatsushiro Port, developed as a hub for international cruise ships. The most eye-catching feature in the park is a towering Kumamon statue. Furthermore, 84 smaller Kumamon statues—sitting, dancing, lying down, and striking all manner of playful poses—dot the grounds, their number playing on the Japanese pun for Yatsushiro (八代, "eighty"). Every angle is Instagram-worthy and delightful. The landscaped park with its grassy lawn and flower beds is perfect for strolling, and the open feel with ocean breezes is invigorating.
