A sandy beach east of Yuigahama, continuing across the Namikaze River (滑川), serving as another viewing venue for the Kamakura Fireworks Festival. Since the fireworks are launched from offshore between the two beaches, they appear large and directly in front, and this location allows for relatively more spacious seating than Yuigahama—a fact well-known to locals. At 7:20 PM, approximately 2,500 fireworks open in succession across the night sky. The highlight is the famous underwater fireworks launched from the fireworks boat running offshore into the sea. The light bursting open in a half-moon shape just above the water surface carries the dramatic force unique to a seaside fireworks festival. These 50 minutes of watching from the sandy beach, with the sound of waves accompanying you, the continuation of a summer Kamakura tradition since 1948, represent the climax of your full day.

Tips

Approximately 10 minutes on foot from Yuigahama across the Namikaze River bridge. Cancelled in severe weather (no rain date), so verify whether the festival will proceed on the day via the City of Kamakura's official announcement. Immediately after the finale, Kamakura Station and the Enoshima Electric Railway become extremely congested; it's recommended to linger on the beach to savor the finale, then disperse homeward via Wadazuka Station or on foot. The ground is dark, so use your smartphone's light to stay safe.
