About this spot

Located at the northern end of Katsushika Ward, Mizumoto Park (水元公園) is Tokyo's largest water garden. Spanning 96 hectares, the park encompasses the Mizumoto Pond and extensive waterside greenery; the shaded walking paths remain cool even in summer. The poplar tree avenue and reed marshes along the water create a rural atmosphere one would never expect in the city. Children can enjoy observing ducks and carp near the water's edge. Resting in the greenery before the evening fireworks helps conserve energy for the crowded evening hours. The park also features a large lawn plaza where you can spend time as you wish before evening.

葛飾納涼花火大会は毎年7月下旬に江戸川河川敷・柴又野球場周辺を会場に開催される、葛飾区を代表する夏の大花火大会です。約20,000発という都内有数の打上数を誇り、大玉のスターマインや尺玉が次々と夜空に咲き乱れます。江戸川の広い河川敷は視界を遮るものが少なく、打ち上がる花火を正面から大きく見上げられるのが魅力のひとつです。約1時間にわたって続く連続打ち上げのフィナーレは、河川敷全体を明るく照らす大迫力で、夏の夜のクライマックスにふさわしい光景です。下町・柴又の風情と組み合わさった、葛飾ならではの花火大会を存分に楽しみましょう。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は葛飾区の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は柴又駅・京成金町駅方面への帰路が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は河川敷で少し余韻を楽しんでから、人の流れが落ち着いてから移動するのがおすすめです。足元が暗いので、スマートフォンのライトがあると安心です。

Tips

About 10 minutes by bus from JR Kanemachi Station or Keiseikintettsu Line Kanemachi Station (get off at Mizumoto Park bus stop). Free admission. Parking available (paid). The park is large, so bring beverages for peace of mind. Check bus schedules in advance and plan to head back toward Kanemachi Station by around 5 p.m.
