This facility is the center of Maizuru's tourism, featuring a cluster of red brick warehouses built between 1901-1912 as storage facilities for the Imperial Japanese Navy. Designated as Important Cultural Properties of Japan and Modern Industrial Heritage Sites, these stately buildings are iconic to the port town landscape of Maizuru. Multiple warehouses serve as exhibition and experience facilities, where visitors can view exhibits about Maizuru's history and the repatriation of citizens after World War II. The plaza allows for leisurely strolls in the sea breeze, and the red brick buildings make for popular photo backdrops for families. The area becomes bustling in the afternoon on the day of the fireworks festival, but earlier in the day offers a more relaxed viewing experience.

みなと舞鶴ちゃった花火大会は、舞鶴市・東地区海岸を会場に毎夏開催される港町の夏の風物詩です。穏やかな舞鶴湾の上空へ打ち上がる約4,000発は、リアス式の入り江という地形が音を反響させ、都市部の花火とはひと味違う迫力で楽しめます。湾内の静かな水面に花火の光が映り込む幻想的な光景も、海上花火ならではの見どころです。2026年は7月26日(日)19時30分から20時10分まで、約40分間の打ち上げが予定されています。潮の香りと波音の中で家族と並んで見上げる花火は、夏の思い出の1ページにきっとなります。

Tips

荒天・波浪時は中止または延期となる場合があるため、当日の開催可否は主催者の公式発表で確認してください。終了後は周辺道路が混雑するため、車での帰宅は花火後に少し時間をおいてから移動するのがおすすめです。帰り道は照明が少ないエリアもあるため、スマートフォンのライトで足元を照らしながら安全に移動してください。

About 5 minutes by car from Maizuru East IC, and about 15 minutes from Maizuru West IC. Parking available (early arrival recommended on the day of the fireworks festival).
