Adjoining Saga Castle Park (佐賀城公園), the Saga Prefectural Museum and Art Museum (佐賀県立博物館・美術館) are cultural facilities surrounded by the greenery of the castle ruins. The museum has rich permanent exhibits on Saga's nature, history, and folklore, with many displays children can learn from too. The plaza and lawn in front of the buildings are spacious and relaxed, ideal for a break outdoors as the evening starts to cool down. It is also close to the north moat area, the fireworks venue, so from this time in the evening you can sense the venue's surroundings coming alive with festival preparations. It is also a convenient last resting point before you gather your things and head to the fireworks venue on foot.

Tips

A short walk from Saga Castle Park. The permanent exhibition is free for the general public (special exhibitions may charge a fee). Open 9:30-18:00 (last entry 17:30). Using the restrooms inside before the fireworks will give you peace of mind. It is within walking distance of the fireworks venue, so you can head there on foot from here.

Allow about 1 hour 15 minutes; you can relax on the lawn outside in the cool time before evening
