Adjacent to Saga Castle Park (佐賀城公園), the Saga Prefectural Museum and Art Museum (佐賀県立博物館・美術館) is a cultural facility surrounded by the greenery of the castle ruins. The museum features extensive permanent exhibitions on Saga's nature, history, and folk culture, with many exhibits that allow learning together with children. The plaza in front of the building and the lawn area offer a spacious, relaxed atmosphere—perfect for resting outside as the evening begins to cool. Close to the north moat area (北濠), which is the fireworks venue, you can sense the festival preparations in full swing from this early evening time. It's also convenient as a final rest stop before heading to the fireworks venue on foot.

佐賀城下栄の国まつりのフィナーレを飾る、佐賀城下花火大会です。2026年5月23日(土)20時30分から20時45分にかけて、佐賀城跡北濠周辺と佐賀市シンボルロード上空に約1,300発の花火が打ち上げられます。歴史ある城跡の石垣と濠を背景に開く花火は、城下町ならではの趣があり、濠の水面に映る光の揺らぎも見どころのひとつです。シンボルロードから見上げると花火が真上に近い角度で広がり、迫力ある観覧が楽しめます。祭りの賑わいの中で家族と並んで夜空を見上げる15分間は、城下町佐賀の1日を締めくくるにふさわしいひとときです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は佐賀市または大会公式の発表を当日確認してください。終了後は観覧客が一斉に移動するため、佐賀駅方面は大変混雑します。フィナーレ後は少し会場周辺にとどまって余韻を楽しんでから移動するのがおすすめ。駐車場は早くから満車になるため、公共交通機関の利用または臨時駐車場の事前確認を。
Tips
A short walk from Saga Castle Park (佐賀城公園). Permanent exhibitions are free for the general public (special exhibitions may charge admission). Opening hours are 9:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. (last entry at 5:30 p.m.). It's reassuring to use the restroom inside the museum before the fireworks. The fireworks venue is within walking distance, so you can walk there from here.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. You can relax on the outdoor lawn during the cool early evening hours.
