The grand finale of the Choshi Minato Matsuri, in 2026 approximately 8,000 fireworks will be launched from the Tone River banks for approximately 50 minutes from 7:30 PM to 8:20 PM on August 8 (Saturday). A scale befitting the celebration of summer in this port town, the shimmer of fireworks reflected on the river creates an enchanting scene. Star mines and large shells in a diverse program light up the night sky, and the sound of fireworks resonates through your body carried by the breeze across the river. The moment of the finale's rapid succession illuminates both the riverbank and water surface at once—a memory of summer in Choshi that will remain in your family's heart.
