The main venue area for tonight's fireworks festival, set up on the vast Arakawa riverbank. With nothing blocking the view all around, the fireworks appear big and right in front of you no matter where you sit — the real appeal of riverbank viewing. As evening approaches, the food stalls really come to life, lined with festival favorites like yakisoba, fried chicken, and takoyaki. Once you've spread out a picnic sheet to claim your spot, pick up dinner from the stalls and wait for the show to start with the whole family in a lively mood. The time as the sky gradually darkens with the sunset has its own special atmosphere unique to fireworks festivals.

Tips

Roads around the venue get congested early on the day of the fireworks festival. Arriving by shuttle bus or on foot from JR Konosu Station or Fukiage Station is often recommended, so check the festival's official transportation information in advance. Temporary restrooms are set up at the venue, but they get crowded, so it's best to use them early.

Best time to visit

About 50 minutes. Securing your spot an hour before the show starts gives you plenty of time to settle in and watch comfortably.
