The climax of the day: approximately 3,000 fireworks illuminate the night sky over the Suo-nada Strait
About this spot
The Hikari Fireworks Festival launches from the Nijiga-hama Beach area from 8:00 PM for 45 minutes on Saturday, July 25, 2026. Approximately 3,000 fireworks burst open one after another in the peaceful night sky over the Suo-nada Strait, and combined with the gentle sound of waves, it creates the unique charm characteristic of a seaside fireworks display. The biggest appeal of this festival is the perfect location on a white sandy beach where you can view fireworks head-on without any obstruction. The successive explosions building toward the finale resonate through your body with the sand and wave sounds, creating an impressive spectacle. The blue sea you saw in daytime becomes painted with fireworks colors at night, creating a special Hikari summer night for your family to enjoy.

Always confirm whether the festival will be held in case of bad weather through official announcements by Hikari City or the festival organizers. After the conclusion, surrounding roads and parking become congested all at once. It's recommended to stagger your departure by enjoying the afterglow on the beach for a while before heading home. Since the ground is dark, having a smartphone light or small flashlight ensures safe travel home. Confirm train and bus departure times for your return trip beforehand.
