Samino River Higashi-Tsu River Park, which serves as the main venue for tonight's fireworks display, is a lush green river park spreading along the riverbank. As evening approaches, food stalls begin to line up, and the bustle of the summer festival envelops the riverbed. The earlier you arrive to secure a spot, the better position you can find with a good view of the river, so arrive while it's still light and spread out your leisure sheet. The evening breeze blowing along the river is pleasant, and waiting for the show while fully experiencing the Yamaguchi summer twilight is one of the important joys of this course. Grab yakisoba or shaved ice from the stalls and slowly watch the night sky change to indigo.

Tips

Within walking distance from JR Shin-Yamaguchi Station or a few minutes by taxi. On the day of the fireworks, surrounding roads become congested from evening onwards, so using public transportation is convenient. More mosquitoes appear along the river after evening, so don't forget insect repellent spray. Identify the restroom locations early.

Best time to visit

Approximately 2 hours 15 minutes required. Be sure to enjoy the changing colors of the twilight river surface and the bustle of the food stalls.
