Positioned on the north shore of Yamanaka Lake, this expansive waterfront park offers sweeping views of the lake and Mount Fuji from well-maintained grassy lawns. The lake is close by, and the open feeling of the water's edge is refreshing. With paved walking paths, you can stroll leisurely along the shore while enjoying the ever-changing colors of the sky and the shadows of Mount Fuji as evening approaches. A large parking lot makes car access convenient, so families visit frequently even on fireworks festival days. As an open space where you can move about freely, it's ideal as a rest stop before evening when children can run around.

山中湖の開湖を記念して毎年8月1日に開催される「報湖祭」は、山中湖の夏を代表する伝統行事です。湖上から打ち上げられる花火は、富士山を正面に望む湖畔から見ると、大輪が富士の稜線と重なるように夜空に開く唯一無二の光景を楽しめます。静かな湖面に映る逆さ花火の美しさも、湖上花火ならではの見どころです。標高約980mの山あいで鳴り響く打ち上げ音は体に響く迫力があり、周囲の山々に反響するこもった音が独特の臨場感を生み出します。涼しい夜風の中で、富士山と湖と花火が一体となる夏の夜のひとときをご家族でお楽しみください。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は山中湖村の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路と駐車場の出口が大変混雑します。フィナーレの余韻を湖畔でゆっくり楽しんでから、時間差で帰路につくのがおすすめです。富士急行バスや自家用車の帰り時刻は事前に調べておきましょう。足元は暗いため、帰路は必ずライトを使って安全に。

About 10 minutes by car from central Yamanaka Lake Village. The parking lot tends to fill quickly on fireworks festival days, so it's safer to arrive early in the evening. Stock up on food and beverages at nearby convenience stores and grocery shops for the night. As temperatures drop in the evening, keep a light jacket easily accessible.
