About this spot

A vast lakeside park located on the north shore of Lake Yamanaka (山中湖), where you can take in a sweeping view of the lake and Mt. Fuji from the well-maintained lawn plaza. The lake's surface is close by, and the open feeling of the waterside is pleasant. With a maintained promenade, you can stroll leisurely along the lake while enjoying the sky's colors changing moment by moment toward evening, along with the silhouette of Mt. Fuji. There's also a large parking lot, making it convenient to access by car, so many families visit even on the day of the fireworks display. Since it's an open outdoor space where you can move about freely, it's also an ideal rest stop before evening, where children can run around.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from central Yamanakako Village. The parking lot tends to fill up early on the day of the fireworks display, so it's reassuring to move there before evening. Pick up your evening meal and drinks at nearby convenience stores or grocery shops. Temperatures start to drop in the evening, so it's handy to keep a light jacket somewhere easy to reach.

About 1 hour. A time of day when the changing colors of Mt. Fuji reflected on the evening lake surface are beautiful
