Along the Nagara River from the foot of Nagara Bridge to the riverbank, numerous stalls line up on the day of the fireworks festival, enveloped in a festive atmosphere. When it comes to Gifu's summer flavors, it's the ayu (sweetfish) from the Nagara River, and stalls and restaurants offering river fish dishes such as salt-grilled ayu and ayu rice are lined up. The evening river breeze is cooler than in the city, and from the bridge you can overlook Mount Kinkazan and Gifu Castle upstream, presenting a landscape characteristic of Gifu. Areas near the fireworks launch site fill up with spectators from the evening, so securing a spot while having your meal and arriving early is a smart approach.

荒天時の開催可否や交通規制の詳細は大会公式の発表で必ず事前確認を。終了後は周辺道路と公共交通が大混雑するため、花火終了後はその場でしばらく余韻を楽しみ、人の流れが落ち着いてからの移動がおすすめです。帰りのバス・鉄道の時刻は事前に調べ、時間に余裕を持った行動計画を立てておきましょう。

From the Mount Kinkazan Ropeway base station to Nagara Bridge is approximately 20 minutes on foot, or take a bus and get off immediately at the "Nagara Bridge" bus stop. On the day of the fireworks festival, traffic restrictions are in place, so it is strongly recommended to check the official traffic information in advance. Prepare small change for cash payments at the stalls.
Best time to visit
Approximately 2 hours 30 minutes required. The evening river breeze is pleasant, and the Nagara River is particularly beautiful around sunset.
