Hinase Port (日生港), just a short walk from JR Hinase Station, is the gateway to the Hinase Islands (日生諸島). A ferry from the port gets you to Kakui-jima Island (鹿久居島), floating in the Seto Inland Sea, in a short time. Kakui-jima is close to an uninhabited island, rich in nature, with clear coastal waters and calm island scenery as its charm. The round-trip ferry ride and a walk around the island let you easily experience the feel of a remote Seto Inland Sea island. It should be a memorable time for children too, as a special summer-vacation memory. Taking in Hinase Port — where tonight's fireworks will launch — during the day makes the nighttime view even more exciting to look forward to.

Tips

Check ferry times and fares in advance through Bizen City tourism information or the ferry operator's official information. On the day of the fireworks festival, the ferry may be crowded or run on a special schedule, so be sure to check the return departure time and plan to head back to Hinase Port with plenty of time to spare. It's a good idea to bring your own drinking water for the island.
