Approximately 1,500 fireworks burst across the night sky above the Hii River, their sounds echoing through the mountains
About this spot
Beginning at 8:10 PM on July 20, 2026 (Monday/National Holiday), this is the climax of the Kisuki Summer Festival Fireworks Grand Celebration that colors summer in Unnan City. Approximately 1,500 fireworks launched above the Hii River's surface illuminate the night sky of the Hii River, where the mythology of Susanoo no Mikoto is passed down. The sounds resound through the mountain valley basin, and the sight of fireworks reflected on the river surface shimmering creates a beautiful landscape unique to the riverbed. Surrounded by mountains, Unnan City's night offers a wide open sky where the fireworks expand across your entire field of view. The local festival energy shared with community members is also a major attraction of this fireworks festival.

Confirm weather-related cancellations in advance through Unnan City or the official festival announcement. After the show, surrounding roads and parking lot exits become congested. It's recommended to savor the finale for a while at the riverbed before moving. Since it will be dark on the way home, bring a light and watch for river embankment steps as you safely depart.
