About this spot

The Ashida River (芦田川), which flows through central Fuchu City, is the setting for tonight's fireworks display. A promenade runs along the levee on the riverbank, letting you enjoy a pleasant stroll beneath the early-summer sky while feeling the flow of the river. Walking through the fireworks venue area during the day also helps you scope out a good viewing spot for the evening. The breeze along the river is pleasant, and there's plenty of open space for kids to run around, making this an ideal time to catch your breath before the fireworks. Take it easy here until it's time for the sunset to reflect on the water.

Tips

The riverbank has a wide grassy area with benches scattered about. From evening onward, it starts getting crowded with people staking out spots for the fireworks, so it's best to stroll while it's still light out. Comfortable sneakers make getting around the grass and levee easier than sandals.
