A coal-fired power plant operated by Shikoku Electric Power, standing on Tachibana Bay (橘湾) in Tachibana-cho, Anan City. Equipped with the company's largest unit, generating 700,000 kilowatts, its coal silo, 48 meters in diameter and 71 meters tall, is one of the largest in Japan, and together with its 200-meter smokestack, it serves as a major landmark along the bay. While waiting for tonight's fireworks festival, take some daytime hours to enjoy the seaside scenery of Tachibana Bay.
Tips
An area just south of the venue, Hamanoura Green Space (浜の浦緑地). Parking space is limited, so crowds are expected on the day of the fireworks festival. It's smoother to park and stroll around during the daytime. Summer sunlight is strong, so don't forget sunscreen and drinks. Please take full care with safety near the water.
Best time to visit
Allow about 1 hour 30 minutes; the afternoon sunlight makes the blue of the sea stand out, building anticipation for the evening fireworks
