A gorge approximately 8 km long formed as the Yoshino River carved through crystalline schist of the Shikoku Mountains, designated as a National Natural Monument and Scenic Site. The landscape of distinctive white and blue-shining rocks and unusual stones is impressive, and especially in November, when the fall foliage of both banks is added, it becomes the most colorful season of the year. Boarding the gorge sightseeing boat allows you to feel up close the impressive power of steep rock walls seen from the river surface. After experiencing the natural beauty of Ōtsubo during approximately 30 minutes of boat travel, we continue to the afternoon's departure. Getting a first sense of the Yoshino River, today's star, here will make the evening fireworks even more enjoyable.

2026年11月14日(土)19時から21時にかけて開催される、にし阿波の花火大会です。三好市・三野健康防災公園と美馬市・美馬リバーサイドパークを会場に、吉野川の広い川幅を舞台に約20,000発が夜空に打ち上げられます。川の両岸からダイナミックに展開する花火は、川面に映る光の帯とともに圧倒的なスケールを生み出します。11月の澄み切った秋の夜空は視界が遮られるものが少なく、花火の色と輝きがひときわ鮮明に見えるのが晩秋開催ならではの魅力です。山あいの静寂を破る轟音と光のクライマックスは、家族の記憶に長く残る一夜になるはずです。

Tips

荒天時の開催可否は大会公式の発表を当日必ず確認してください。終了後は駐車場からの退出・帰路の道路が非常に混雑します。終了後しばらく会場や周辺でゆっくりしてから移動する時間差帰宅がおすすめです。11月の吉野川沿いは21時には気温が10℃以下になることもあるため、防寒対策を万全に整えて観覧してください。

Tips

The boarding point is near Ōtsubo Gorge Sightseeing Center (大歩危峡観光センター), approximately 10 minutes on foot from JR Ōtsubo Station. The sightseeing boat fare is approximately 1,300 yen for adults (confirmation on-site required). November is the busy fall foliage season, so waiting times may occur before boarding. For peace of mind regarding return travel time, it's best to finish the boat tour by 1:30 PM.
