Located near the southern tip of the Chita Peninsula, Shizaki Port is the gateway to the sea of Minamichieta where regular ferries depart for Shinojima and Himakajima Islands. The area around the port offers an open location with panoramic views of Mikawa Bay, and the tranquil atmosphere of fishing boats coming and going evokes a sense of travel. The island silhouettes of Shinojima and Himakajima viewed from the pier, with Ise Bay in the distance, present a landscape typical of Minamichieta. A leisurely stroll in the afternoon sea breeze makes you forget the hustle and bustle of the city. Since tonight's fireworks venue, Toyohama Fishing Port, is also close from here, be sure to fully absorb the maritime atmosphere during this time.

Tips

About 15 minutes by car from Minamichieta Beach Land. There are free and paid parking lots around the port. In the summer afternoon, the sun is strong, so don't forget a hat and water. Browsing the shops and souvenir stores in the port is also part of the fun. It's about 5 minutes by car to Toyohama Fishing Port.

Best time to visit

Approximately 1 hour 15 minutes required. The afternoon light glimmers on the sea surface and the island shadows are beautiful at this time
