About 10,000 fireworks illuminate the East China Sea night sky - summer fireworks on Okinawa's beach

About this spot

The Kaiyohaku Chura Sea Fireworks Festival, held July 4, 2026 (Saturday) 8 p.m. - 9 p.m. Approximately 10,000 fireworks launch into the East China Sea night sky above Emerald Beach, the venue of Okinawa Commemorative National Government Park (Kaiyohaku Park). Large blooms of light successively open over the unobstructed sea, and bands of reflected light spreading across the quiet sea surface create a spectacular view unique to seaside fireworks. The sound of the fireworks against Okinawa's warm night breeze and ocean scent is special indeed - a full hour to feel the essence of summer Okinawa. Watch the finale's continuous barrage illuminate both the night sky and sea surface from the sandy beach.

Tips

Check the festival organizers' official announcement and Okinawa Commemorative National Government Park for information on whether the event will be held in bad weather. After the show, parking lots and surrounding roads become very congested. It's recommended to enjoy the afterglow at the beach for a while before leaving, staggering your departure. Since your path will be dark, prepare a smartphone light or small flashlight for safe return.

Best time to visit
