Watch the fireworks reflected in Lake Yogo's night sky and surface
About this spot
The climax of viewing the Nagahama · Kita-Biwako Grand Fireworks Festival "Yogo-no-Jin" held on Friday, October 16, 2026 at 7:30 PM. As fireworks burst into the night sky above the tranquil Lake Yogo, surrounded by mountains, the lake surface becomes a mirror, reflecting rings of light in a fantastical sight. The booming echo of the fireworks reverberating through the mountain valleys combined with the beauty of the inverted fireworks spreading across the water surface is a spectacle unique to Lake Yogo. As a rare autumn fireworks festival held in October, the crisp autumn night air is different from summer, and about 25 minutes of brilliant light and sound unfold. Savor every moment until the finale's lingering beauty dissolves into the quiet lake surface.

Tips
In case of rough weather, always check the festival's official announcement regarding cancellation. After the festival ends, crowds will concentrate on heading to JR Yogo Station, so it's recommended to enjoy the lingering atmosphere by the lake for a while, then move with a time lag. Check the return train times on the JR Kosei Line (湖西線) and Hokuriku Main Line (北陸本線) from Yogo Station in advance and leave with enough time to avoid missing your train. The ground will be dark, so a small light will be useful.
