A Scenic Spot Where Cliffs and Sea of Japan Views from the Observation Deck Heighten Anticipation for the Fireworks

About this spot

A cape located at the southernmost end of Fukui's Echizen Coast, where successive cliffs jutting out toward the Sea of Japan make it one of Fukui's most representative scenic areas. From the vicinity of the Echizen Cape Lighthouse standing at the cape's tip, you can see rugged rock formations and the clear Sea of Japan stretching out before you, and on clear days, your view extends all the way to the horizon. The sound of waves crashing below and the sea breeze will greatly heighten your feelings of anticipation for tonight's fireworks. In spring, daffodils bloom; in summer, the contrast between the green cliff faces and blue sea creates beautiful scenery. It's a popular spot with locals as a standard stop-off point combined with a scenic drive. Access is available from Route 305 running along the Echizen Coast, and parking spaces are available in the cape area.

越前漁港広場(はまひるがお公園)を会場に繰り広げられる越前みなと大花火は、約13,000発の花火が日本海の夜空を彩る越前町夏の一大イベントです。目の前に広がる日本海をバックに打ち上がる花火は遮るものがなく、スターマインやワイドスターマインが夜空いっぱいに開く様子は迫力満点。波音が花火の轟音に重なり、潮の香りの中で見上げる花火は、都市部の花火大会とはまったく異なる海辺ならではの体験です。フィナーレの連続打ち上げが漁港の夜空を埋め尽くす瞬間は、この1日最大のクライマックスです。

Tips

開催日は2026年7月18日(土)で時間は公式発表をご確認ください。荒天時の開催可否は越前町の公式発表で確認を。終了後は周辺道路や駐車場が大変混雑するため、花火終了後しばらく会場でゆっくりしてから移動するのがおすすめです。帰りの足元が暗くなるので、スマートフォンのライト機能を活用してください。

Tips

Approximately 20 minutes by car from Echizen Town center. While a walking trail is maintained around the cape, absolutely do not go beyond the fences along the cliffs. Parking is free. There are no shops in the cape area, so it's reassuring to prepare drinks in advance.
