About this spot

The Sakasai Castle Ruins Park, located in the northern part of Sakai Town, is a historical park where the structure of a Warring States period castle has been partially restored. Earthen fortifications, dry moats, wooden castle gates, and watchtowers are all maintained, and from the watchtower you can take in the vast landscape of the Kanto Plain. The park also features grassy areas where children can run freely, creating an open and accessible space. This is a perfect spot to gaze toward the Tone River where tonight's fireworks will take place and heighten your anticipation for the evening's performance. As a quiet area with few people, you can spend calm moments before the bustling fireworks festival. Entry is free, making it an easily accessible hidden gem.

Tips

About 10 minutes by car from the center of Sakai Town. There is parking available. Some areas within the park are not paved, so wearing comfortable shoes is recommended for a safe visit. For your move to the next location, Sakai Riverside Park, travel by car and secure a parking space early.

Best time to visit

Allow approximately 1 hour 15 minutes. On crisp autumn afternoons, the views of the Kanto Plain are particularly pleasant
