The Atami Offshore Fireworks Festival (Summer Season) held on Monday, July 20, 2026 (national holiday) launches approximately 3,000 fireworks over approximately 25 minutes from 8:15 p.m. to 8:40 p.m. The launching point is offshore in Atami Bay, and from the viewing waterfront or sandy beaches, the spectacular sight unfolds with fireworks blooming across the entire night sky. Because Atami Bay is surrounded by steep mountains on three sides, the fireworks' thunderous sound reverberates off the peaks and resonates through your very core—an experience unique to Atami fireworks. The dense succession of launches makes the 25 minutes fly by, and the finale's massive barrage envelops the entire bay in light.

In case of rough weather or poor sea conditions, the event may be canceled or postponed; always confirm the day's status from the official announcement by the Atami City Tourism Association. The return route to JR Atami Station becomes very congested after the show. Rather than leaving immediately, stay on the beach for 10 to 15 minutes to enjoy the finale's afterglow, which allows you to avoid the peak congestion somewhat. Check your return train times (shinkansen and conventional) in advance.
