Enshrined in the heart of Yaizu, this historic shrine traces its founding back to ancient times. It is linked to the legend that Yamato Takeru (日本武尊) burned off attacking bandits here during his eastern campaign, and the episode is said to be the origin of the name Yaizu itself. The shrine has long watched over Yaizu as it flourished as a fishing port town, and local fishermen and residents still hold it in deep faith today. The grounds have a calm, settled atmosphere, and a quiet visit here before tonight's fireworks makes for a fitting pause in the day.
