A historic shrine located in the center of Yaizu with origins tracing back to ancient times. It is connected to a legend that Yamato Takeru burned down bandits in this area during his eastern expedition, and is also said to be the origin of the place name "Yaizu" (焼津). As a shrine that has long protected Yaizu, which prospered as a fishing port town, it is still deeply revered by local fishermen and residents. The precincts have a calm atmosphere and provide a good pause in the day as a time to worship quietly before tonight's fireworks festival. 焼津海上花火大会は、焼津港新港の城之腰埠頭を会場に10月24日(土)18時30分から20時まで開催されます。駿河湾に面した海の上から打ち上がる約8,000発は、秋の澄んだ夜空に鮮やかに映え、港の水面にも光を映しながら次々と大輪を咲かせます。海上からの打ち上げならではの水平線すれすれに広がる迫力ある花火と、静かな夜の海に反響する轟音が、港町ならではの花火体験を作り出します。10月の秋空は夏よりも透明度が高く、色彩豊かな花火がひときわ鮮明に浮かび上がります。フィナーレの連発が夜の焼津港を明るく染め上げる瞬間は、この1日のクライマックスです。
Tips
荒天時の開催可否は焼津市の公式発表で必ず確認してください。終了後は会場周辺の道路や公共交通機関が大変混雑します。フィナーレ後はすぐに移動せず、埠頭で少し余韻を楽しんでから時間差で帰路につくと混雑を避けやすいです。10月の夜の気温は低いため、終了後の防寒は万全に整えてください。
Tips
About 10 minutes on foot from Yaizu Station (焼津駅). Worship is free of charge. The precincts are compact and can be toured completely in about 15 minutes. You can reach the next museum on foot.

Approximately 45 minutes required. You can worship quietly and peacefully during the calm afternoon hours.
