About this spot

This seaside park faces Shibushi Bay (志布志湾) and is an open, breezy spot with a wide lawn plaza leading to a sandy beach. Enjoy a leisurely stroll or a rest in the sea breeze while taking in the calm waters of Shibushi Bay. Looking toward the port area, where tonight's fireworks will launch, while it's still daytime makes it easier to picture the evening's viewing spot. Spreading out a sheet on the lawn for lunch is also a pleasant way to spend time here. Shibushi Bay tends to be calm from summer into fall, and simply wading in the shallows on the sandy beach gives you a taste of the tropical atmosphere.

Tips

About a 5-minute drive from the center of Shibushi City (志布志市). Parking is available free of charge. Sunlight is strong at this time of year, so don't forget sunscreen and a hat. If you plan to play in the water, bring a change of clothes. It's convenient to pick up lunch beforehand at Michi-no-Eki Shibushi (道の駅志布志) or elsewhere in the city.
