Shibushi Castle Ruins, designated as a National Historic Site, is a complex mountain castle where four castle ruins—Uchijo, Matsuo Castle, Shin Castle, and Takajo—stand adjacent to one another. The Uchijo and Matsuo Castle Ruins in particular preserve well-maintained deep dry moats and stone walls built with irregular stones, conveying the appearance of medieval castle architecture in South Kyushu to the present day. As you walk along the maintained footpaths, you can trace the original layout of the castle. Not only will history enthusiasts be captivated, but the impressive scale of the deep moats and stone walls will also make a striking impression on children. Surrounded by trees, the castle ruins provide cool shade, making it ideal for daytime strolls. Experience a quieter, deeper aspect of Shibushi, in contrast to the brilliance of the fireworks display.

開催時間は当日の公式発表で必ず確認してください。荒天時は中止または延期になる場合があります。終了後は周辺道路や駐車場が大変混雑するため、花火終了直後に急いで移動するより、少し時間をおいてから帰路につくほうがスムーズです。足元が暗い場所もあるため、小さなライトやスマートフォンのライトを活用しながら安全に移動しましょう。

About 10 minutes by car from Ariake Kaihama Park. While footpaths are maintained within the castle ruins, there are steps and slopes, so please wear comfortable walking shoes. Admission is free. Informational signs are posted, and consulting a map alongside them makes navigation easier. Taking photos of the on-site signage will also make your exploration more convenient.
Best time to visit
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes required. With plenty of shade, daytime exploration remains relatively cool.
