About this spot

Isozakigū is one of the branch shrines of Ise Grand Shrine (Naikū) and is affectionately known locally as "Isobe no Daidaimyōjin." It is also known as the primary shrine of Shima Province. The grounds, surrounded by tall cedar trees, are particularly serene in the morning hours. While it maintains the solemn atmosphere befitting a branch shrine of Ise Grand Shrine, its modest scale makes it easy to visit even with small children. At the start of this day's journey, offer prayers for both safe travels and safe swimming.

Tips

The grounds feature paved walking paths that are easy to navigate, and parking is available. Summer mornings offer plenty of shade and are comfortable, while daytime sun is intense, so morning visits are recommended. Commemorative stamps can be obtained at the shrine office.

Best time to visit

Approximately 45 minutes required. The late morning around 10 AM, when fewer visitors are present, is ideal for a leisurely visit.
