The seawater bathing beach in Iwaya, Awaji City, open from July 18 (Saturday) to August 31 (Monday), 2026, with swimming available from 9 AM to 5 PM. Its charm lies in the special location with the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge in close view right before you—a perspective unique among Awaji Island's beaches. Swimming is free, with hot-water coin showers (¥300) and paid parking available. Playing in the waves and sand while gazing up at this magnificent bridge is an experience exclusive to Iwaya. On this peaceful beach with its charming port town atmosphere, fully enjoy summer until evening.

Tips

Located right next to Iwaya Port, and easily accessible from Michi-no-Eki Awaji and Akashi Kaikyo National Park. Showers are hot-water coin-operated, so bring small change. Parking is paid and gets crowded during summer vacation; early arrival is recommended. Swimming ends at 5 PM, so plan ahead for changing time and finish a bit early.

Best time to visit

In the afternoon, the sunlight is slightly softer, allowing plenty of time to swim and enjoy views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge until evening.
