A museum introducing the history of sardine fishing on the Kujukuri coast (九十九里浜) and its fishing gear, with models of beach seine fishing and displays of fishing boats that children can enjoy too. Learning why the Kujukuri coast has thrived on fishing since ancient times before heading to the sea deepens your feeling for the water you are about to swim in. Eateries using local seafood are dotted around the area, so having lunch before or after the visit keeps the afternoon plan flowing smoothly.

大網白里市にある九十九里浜の一角、白里海水浴場は2026年は7月4日(土)から8月23日(日)まで、8時30分から16時まで開設されます。遊泳は無料で、きれいなトイレとシャワーが整い、5軒の海の家が砂浜に並ぶので、休憩や食事にも困りません。市営駐車場は1,000台収容と広く、普通車1,000円・中型車1,400円・大型車2,000円・二輪車200円(市内在住者は免許証提示で無料)で利用できます。九十九里浜らしく開放感のある広い砂浜で、波打ち際の水遊びから砂遊びまで、夕方までたっぷり楽しめます。
Tips
駐車場は市営駐車場が便利ですが、夏の週末は混み合うため午前中の到着がおすすめ。夏の砂浜は熱いのでビーチサンダル必携です。営業終了は16時なので、着替えの時間を見込んで15分前には切り上げましょう。

It is in Kujukuri Town (九十九里町), about 15 minutes by car from Shirasato Beach (白里海水浴場). The exhibits take about 30 minutes to see, so allow about an hour including lunch at a nearby eatery.
